Real Wedding: Elegance, Bucky & Zombies!

My gratitude goes to Althea Dotzour for spectacularly capturing the details of Becky & John’s wedding, and sharing the images with me.

What a gorgeous day for a wedding! John and his groomsmen started the day at Thorps to get a fresh shave and trim.

Meanwhile, Becky and her bridesmaids spent their morning at The Ultimate.

Meanwhile, at Warner Park, the Planned Spontaneity team was busy setting up the outdoor ceremony, creating tablescapes and making sure all the details were set and ready to go! After weeks of growing wheat grass, and working with stylist, Tamara Kaufman,  it was intensely rewarding to see all the design work come together!

It’s always fun to have Bucky drop in during the cocktail hour!

There were many fun, unique features about Becky & John’s wedding. Becky’s sense of style is gorgeous and fanciful! John’s sense of fun includes comicbook superheroes and zombies… He’s also from North Carolina, where the “Bleedin’ Armidillo Cake” cake has taken hold as a tradition since Steel Magnolias came out in 1989. When we approached Derek at Sweet Life Cakes Cookies and Confections about the cake, Derek got creative.

This spectacular cake not only includes the afore mentioned “Bleedin’ Armadillo”, but also references their beloved pets among many other fun references. Wow.
